This week's episode saw the charismatic Knight making an appearance, but only for those enjoying the ad-free experience on Netflix. M. During a commercial break at Boston's TD Garden, Knight took the opportunity to discuss the upcoming “Last Time is Now Tournament.” This tournament is a big deal, as it will determine who gets to face John Cena in his final match next month on Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Knight's opponent for Friday's SmackDown remains a mystery, but he's not sweating it. He confidently declared, "Whoever steps in that ring, you’re getting in the way of me, you will get dropped — BFT, three the hard way, and on to John Cena I go.”
Unfortunately, his moment was cut short as the break ended. However, he did manage to share his thoughts on facing Cena. While others might dream of epic matches, Knight sees it as just another day at the office.
"I never really gave a damn, honestly, about like, ‘Oh, I wish I could have a match with this guy, this guy, this guy.’ This ain’t about dreams. This is a job. And in this job, I am the damn best," he stated. He even pointed out Cena's recent Intercontinental Title win over Dominik Mysterio, highlighting that Cena now holds something Knight wants.
But here's where it gets controversial... Despite Knight's bold words and undeniable charisma, the recent match results paint a different picture. He's lost eight of his last ten televised matches and didn't even appear on Raw last week. This week, his appearance was limited to a brief promo during a break, which was cut short due to time constraints.
Given the way he's been booked lately, it seems unlikely that WWE will bring in a mystery opponent just to give Knight a win. This raises questions about his current standing and future prospects.
