After Jacqueline Jossa and Dan Osborne sparked rumours of a reconciliation last week during what appeared to be a sun-soaked family holiday together, a source tells new that their friends aren’t convinced they should give their marriage go. The couple, who share Ella, 10 and Mia, six, both posted photographs from their sunshine break on their socials last week, leading some to speculate that they were on a make or break trip. A source has claimed to OK! however that the pair are simply trying to “work out what’s best for their children” and aren’t focusing on salvaging their own romantic relationship. “They both really care for each other and they still want to do things as a family,” the source claimed. “It’s really hard when there are still strong feelings and also young kids, it’s a really hard thing to navigate."

They added: “But they’ve been on such different paths and some of Jac’s close friends don’t see her future being with Dan. They think they’ll be great co-parents but they want Jac - and Dan - to be the happiest they can be and they’re not convinced that that means them being together.” The couple started dating in 2013 and married in 2017, but it hasn’t been a drama-free union. As well as numerous split rumours, there’s also been a number of cheating allegations involving former TOWIE star Dan, 32.

But after weathering the various storms together, they issued a joint statement last month confirming their marriage was officially over. It said: “Jacqueline and Dan are handling things privately, choosing to keep their lives and relationship out of the public eye. They kindly ask for respect and privacy as they navigate this together. “Their children remain their top priority, surrounded by love and care from both parents — something that will never change. Above all, Jacqueline and Dan have each other’s and their children’s best interests at heart. There will be no further comment.” But last week it appeared they had managed to put their own feelings to one side as they jetted off with Ella, Mia and Dan’s older son Teddy. Dan filmed himself walking through a hotel with Mia as they chatted about Arsenal’s game with Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid last Wednesday [April 6].

In a later video, he celebrated his team’s 3-0 win with Teddy - while laughing about his burned face from the sun. A few hours later, Jac posted a black and white photograph of her cuddling one of their daughters in the sea, with the caption: “Besties”, followed by an early-morning sunrise snap which she captioned as “Sunrise and gym”. The family holiday sparked rumours of a reconciliation, and our source says while their friends think it’s unlikely they’ll get back together properly, it’s a “never say never” situation. “There’s a lot to fight for and couples have come back from worse, so never say never, but some friends still think it’s unlikely that they’ll be able to really come back from everything that’s happened.”

In 2018, Dan was accused of cheating with Love Islander Gabby Allen after the pair were spotted on a yacht together after their appearance on Celebrity Big Brother. They both denied that anything happened. Following her stint in I’m A Celebrity back in 2019, which she went on to win, Jacqueline planned to “restart” their relationship after admitting she had given her then-husband “two years of hell” over the allegations. Dan later issued a statement following that interview, where he said some of the allegations were “true” and some were “very untrue” and vowed to be the best husband he could be. Our source says despite all that’s happened, the couple are determined to focus on making sure their kids are happy, claiming: “They will always put their kids first and do what’s best for them. So why shouldn’t they enjoy a holiday together? If they’re able to get on together as co-parents and make some happy family memories together even though they’re separated, that’s got to be a good thing.”
